Housing, Support & Wellbeing

SHAP supports approximately 1,200 people per year providing accommodation, support, coaching and welfare benefits advice to ensure that when people move on from our accommodation they have developed the confidence and skills to do that successfully.  We provide support in the community for people who are insecurely housed, threatened with homelessness or need additional support to help them maintain their accommodation.  We offer emergency accommodation to young people who are on the brink of being forced to leave their family home, or who have done so with no place to go.

Communities

BAME Community Development (Halton, Knowsley & St Helens)

Improves access to mental health and wellbeing services for the BAME community. Delivery of cultural awareness training, support to individuals to access services and assists organisations to enhance service provision. Support for Refugees, Asylum Seekers and people who are victims of Hate Crime

Belvidere Family Centre (Liverpool)

Emergency 24-hour supported accommodation for homeless families who have been assessed by Liverpool City Council’s Housing Options Service. The accommodation is provided on a temporary basis for up to 12-weeks

Elizabeth Anderson House (Liverpool)

Residential project providing 24-hour support for teenage parents or pregnant women, aged 16-25 years old. Support is provided for up to 2 years

Kirkby Schemes

Self-contained accommodation and support for homeless men and women who have support needs related to their mental health, use or misuse of alcohol and / or other substances, their offending behaviour or other needs. Support is provided for up to 2 years

Knowsley Floating Support Scheme

Provides housing related support to anyone over the age of 16, living in Knowsley; to help them to maintain their tenancy and gain independent living skills.

Knowsley Temporary Accommodation Scheme

Provides temporary accommodation to homeless single people, couples and families; who are in need of a place to stay whilst searching for and obtaining permanent accommodation

Liverpool Harm Reduction Scheme

Provides accommodation and support to men aged over 40 with alcohol problems. On-site intensive support 24-hours a day to help residents manage / reduce their alcohol use and reduce the negative consequences of alcohol on their health and well-being
Meyrick Court

Meyrick Court (Newton-le-Willows)

Purpose built development of nine self-contained flats, for people aged 16 – 24 years old who require support to maintain independent living. Support packages are provided for up to 2 years
Octavia court

Octavia Court (Huyton)

Accommodation and support to young people aged 16–24 years old for up to 9 months

OneSixTwo Scheme (St Helens)

Provides accommodation and 24-hour support for young people aged 16-25 years old who require more intensive support to help them gain skills to live independently. Accommodation and support can be provided for up to 2 years

Private Rented Properties

A small number of properties available for private rent. A housing management service is provided

Refugee Resettlement Scheme (Halton)

Our Refugee Resettlement Scheme supports Refugees to help them with their resettlement into the community in Halton.

Residential Family Centre (St Helens)

Residential assessment centre where parenting assessments can be undertaken. Tailored packages of care and support enabling parents to learn and develop their parenting abilities and gain independent living skills in a safe, secure environment. 24-hour support is provided

Selina Cooper Floating Support Scheme (St Helens)

Provides housing related support to teenage parents aged 16-25 years old, living in St Helens; to help them to maintain their tenancy and gain independent living skills.

Selina Cooper House (St Helens)

Accommodation and 24-hour support for teenage parents and expectant mothers aged 16-25 years old. Support is provided to prepare young people to become positive, confident parents who are able to manage and maintain a tenancy.

Shelagh Delaney House (Huyton)

Short-term emergency accommodation and support to young people aged 16-21 years old, for up to 10 weeks

Sherdley House (St Helens)

Emergency accommodation and 24-hour support for young people aged 16-21 years old, for up to 10 weeks

Steps: Supported Lodging Scheme (St Helens)

Supports young people aged 16-21 years old, who are a child looked after by the Local Authority or leaving care; by providing them with safe, secure and supportive accommodation in the homes of caring local householders
